Behind The X's & O's of Business

Sometimes we think our story won't matter until we've "made it." Until the business is bigger, the debt is gone, the goals are reached, or the success is obvious. But some of the most encouraging stories aren't about arriving. They're about continuing to move forward one day at a time.

Last night, as we welcomed another guest to the Behind the X's & O's livestream, I looked up at the backdrop behind us. Across the top were the words, "Every Business Has a Story Worth Hearing." The more I thought about it, the more I realized those weren't just words on a banner. They're becoming the reason we're building this platform.

For a long time, I thought having a good conversation meant having something interesting to say. The longer we build this business, the more I realize the best conversations usually happen when we become genuinely interested in someone else's story instead of trying to tell our own.

The longer we build this business, the more I realize that every person has a story. Some stories are about success. Others are about setbacks, lessons learned, or simply showing up every day and doing the right thing. If we'll slow down long enough to listen, we'll often walk away having learned something ourselves.

Some of the best opportunities we've had in business didn't begin with a marketing campaign. They began with one relationship. The longer we build this business, the more I realize that when you genuinely care for the people God places in your path, those relationships often open doors you never saw coming.
