Your Story Isn't Waiting for a Perfect Ending
After yesterday's article, I found myself thinking about something.
If every business has a story worth hearing...
When does that story become worth telling?
I think a lot of us believe we have to wait.
Wait until we've made it.
Wait until the business is bigger.
Wait until we've reached our goals.
Wait until everything finally makes sense.
But the truth is, the middle of the story has value too.
Some of the conversations that have encouraged me the most weren't with people who had everything figured out.
They were with people who were honest about where they were.
Sixteen years into this business, I'm still learning.
I'm still making adjustments.
I'm still asking questions.
I'm still growing.
If I waited until I had everything figured out before sharing what I've learned...
We wouldn't be having this conversation today.
Perfection isn't what makes a story valuable.
Honesty does.
That's one of the things I hope people feel when they come on Behind the X's & O's.
They don't have to impress anyone.
They don't have to pretend they've never struggled.
I hope they feel free to tell the truth.
Because the truth is where the real lessons are found.
It's where perseverance is revealed.
It's where faith is tested.
And it's often where someone else finds the encouragement they needed to keep going.
Somewhere out there...
Someone is standing exactly where you stood five years ago.
They're looking for hope.
Not perfection.
The longer we build this business, the more I realize people aren't inspired by people who never struggled.
They're inspired by people who kept going.
Don't wait until your story has a perfect ending.
Someone may need to hear the chapter you're living right now.
