Schedules were posted. Time slots assigned. Criteria stapled neatly to clipboards.

Everyone checked their name.

Jack Marrow did not.

Cupid stood at the front of the room and reviewed the evaluation order.

There was a pause.

Someone asked where Jack Marrow’s name was.

Cupid said,

“He’ll be assessed separately.”

Jack Marrow did not react.

🎃 The Question

Eventually, Cupid addressed him directly.

“Jack, we’ll need you to participate for completeness.”

Jack Marrow looked at the clipboard.

Then at Cupid.

Then at Santa.

He spoke calmly.

“No.”

That was the entire answer.

🎄 Santa Allows It

The room waited.

This was the moment where authority clarified itself.

Cupid looked to Santa.

Santa considered the clipboard for a moment.

Then he nodded.

“That’s acceptable.”

Cupid did not argue.

No exception was documented.

No justification was provided.

The schedule remained unchanged.

🐰 Easter Bunny Notices

The Easter Bunny leaned toward me and whispered,

“Is that… allowed?”

I told him the truth.

I didn’t know.

But Santa did.

The Bunny wrote nothing in his notes after that.

Stupid raised his hand.

“So if you’re scary enough, you don’t have to be evaluated?”

Cupid said,

“That is not the lesson.”

Jack Marrow smiled slightly.

It was.

The Holiday Alliance can measure cooperation. It can score compliance. It can document readiness.

It cannot evaluate power it does not control.
