📝 Day 94 — Evaluation Criteria (Unpublished)

Today we received paperwork.

Not assignments. Not authority. Paperwork.

The header read:
HOLIDAY ALLIANCE — PERFORMANCE EVALUATION FRAMEWORK

No mention of “The Unlikelies.”

That name only appears in the margins.

📑 Official Titles vs. Reality

Cupid distributed the documents personally.

Heavy paper. Gold-embossed seal. Extremely confident font choice.

He reminded us—twice—that this was an internal evaluation tool.

Santa accepted his copy without comment.

Jack Marrow did not take one.

I noticed that every official reference used Holiday Alliance.

Every handwritten note—mine included—used something else.

💘 Cupid Explains the Metrics

Cupid cleared his throat and began explaining the criteria.

  • Emotional Alignment
  • Seasonal Flexibility
  • Inter-Holiday Cooperation
  • Optics & Public Sentiment

I asked where “actual effectiveness” ranked.

Cupid smiled politely and said it was implied.

I circled the word implied.

🐰 Easter Bunny Fails Quietly

The Easter Bunny flipped through his packet with increasing concern.

He raised a paw.

“Do we get advance notice before evaluations?”

Cupid said,

“Preparation is part of readiness.”

That was not comforting.

The Bunny wrote notes in the margins.

They were all reminders.

🎃 Jack Marrow Is Not Listed

Jack Marrow does not appear in the evaluation framework.

No criteria. No score range. No appendix.

When asked, Cupid said,

“Certain entities operate outside standard review.”

Santa nodded once.

I underlined the phrase outside standard review so hard the pen tore the paper.

🤦‍♂️ Stupid Misreads the Header

Stupid asked if failing the evaluation meant they would stop being “Unlikelies.”

Cupid corrected him.

“The official designation is Holiday Alliance.”

Stupid nodded and said,

“Oh. So Unlikelies is more of a nickname.”

No one answered.

Which, I suspect, is answer enough.

So here’s the situation:

Officially, this group is the Holiday Alliance. Evaluated. Measured. Reviewed.

Unofficially, they are something else entirely. Unlikely. Unbalanced. Unfinished.

The paperwork does not see that yet.

Tomorrow, someone refuses to be measured.
