📝 Day 93 — They’re Calling Themselves “The Unlikelies”

The group has a name now.

No one voted on it. No one announced it formally. It simply appeared—typed neatly at the top of a report draft like it had always been there.

The Unlikelies.

I stared at the page for a long time. Mostly because it felt less like branding… and more like a warning.

📄 The Name Came Before the Plan

Cupid insists the name is motivational.

“Turning doubt into identity builds resilience,”

he said, as if that sentence had been peer-reviewed.

Santa did not comment. Which means he noticed.

I noted that the name was finalized before:

  • Roles were clarified
  • Authority was defined
  • Anyone agreed on what success looks like

Classic move.

🖼️ The Poster Exists. Unity Does Not.

There is already a poster.

Clean composition. Dramatic lighting. Everyone standing close enough to imply cooperation.

Jack Marrow is positioned slightly apart. That was intentional.

Cupid looks confident. Also intentional.

The Easter Bunny is holding his basket with both hands like it might be taken from him.

Stupid is smiling.

I wrote in the margin:
“Posters are aspirational. Reality remains pending.”

🎃 Jack Marrow Does Not Object

Jack Marrow was informed of the name.

He did not comment. He did not approve. He did not correct it.

He simply looked at the poster for a moment longer than necessary.

Then he said,

“Names don’t make alliances.”

And left the room.

No one followed.

🐰 Easter Bunny Tries to Be Positive

The Easter Bunny clapped softly.

“Well… it’s better than ‘Probationary Assets,’”

he offered.

That was the most optimistic statement of the day.

One egg cracked in his basket.
Nothing came out.

We are all very tired.

🤦‍♂️ Stupid Misunderstands the Assignment

Stupid asked if “The Unlikelies” meant they were unlikely to succeed.

Cupid said,

“No, it means you’re surprising.”

Stupid nodded thoughtfully and wrote:
“Surprisingly Unqualified”

on the back of the poster.

It has since been flipped around.

So that’s where we are.

A name. A poster. A room full of people who do not yet trust each other.

They are calling themselves The Unlikelies.

Tomorrow, they find out what that actually costs.
