📝 Day 105 — Christmas

Christmas arrived exactly as planned.

Lists completed. Routes cleared. Deliveries successful.

No anomalies worth reporting.

Which means the system still works.

🎄 The Day Itself

The North Pole moved the way it always does on Christmas.

Fast. Focused. Certain.

For a few hours, nothing else mattered.

Not the Alliance.

Not the doors.

Not the pressure building at the edges.

Christmas has gravity.

Everything else orbits it.

🎁 After the Work

When it was over, there was applause.

Relief.

The quiet satisfaction of something done well.

I started closing files.

That’s when Stupid appeared again.

“They’re ready,”

he said.

“For you.”

This time, he didn’t smile.

🕯️ The Same Room

The room was undecorated.

No lights.

No garland.

Just a table.

Santa stood at one end.

Jack Marrow leaned where the shadows were deepest.

Cupid stood across from me.

Waiting.

I did not sit.

🎄 Santa Explains the Truth

Santa spoke first.

“The Holiday Alliance was never about unity,”

he said.

“It was about transition.”

He explained that the calendar creates pressure.

Attention follows dates.

Power follows attention.

And some holidays cannot close their doors once they open them.

Cupid did not react.

Jack did not disagree.

💘 My Assignment

Santa looked at me.

“You notice what others don’t,”

he said.

“And you write it down.”

He told me I would be working with Cupid.

Not under him.

With him.

As a North Pole Ambassador.

Someone who could move between doors.

Someone who could see what was forming before it became a problem.
