Some Days Don’t Fit the Plan — Keep Moving Anyway
Last Thursday didn’t go as planned.
We ended up pulling an overnight install…
and that rolled straight into Friday.
By the time it was done—
we had worked through the night
and all day Friday.
There wasn’t much left in the tank.
So Friday came and went…
and I didn’t post.
Now it’s Monday.
And I could’ve easily said,
“I’ll get back to it tomorrow.”
That would’ve made sense.
It would’ve been justified.
But this is one of those moments…
that doesn’t seem like a big deal—
but actually is.
Because it’s not about the blog post.
It’s about the reset.
Things aren’t always going to line up perfectly.
Schedules get thrown off.
Days don’t go the way you expected.
You miss something.
You fall a step behind.
That’s normal.
That’s part of it.
But what matters is what happens next.
Do you let that one day turn into two?
Two into three?
Or do you just pick it back up…
right where you left off?
No overthinking.
No trying to “make up” for it.
No turning it into something bigger than it is.
Just… get back to it.
Because consistency isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about not letting small breaks turn into long ones.
And that’s where most people slip.
Not in the work itself—
but in the gap after it.
That space where it’s easy to say,
“I’ll start again later.”
And later turns into longer than it should.
I’ve learned not to sit in that gap too long.
If something gets off track—
reset it.
Keep it simple.
Get moving again.
Because the longer you wait…
the harder it is to get back into rhythm.
But if you move quickly—
it barely feels like you stopped.
That’s the difference.
