No One Can Tell Your Story Better Than You
Over the last few weeks, I've been thinking a lot about stories.
Not stories written in books.
Stories lived by ordinary people.
Last week we welcomed another guest to Behind the X's & O's.
As I listened, I realized something.
Nobody could have told that story the way they did.
Someone else could have talked about their business.
They could have listed accomplishments.
They could have explained what they do.
But they couldn't explain why the journey mattered.
Experience gives a story facts.
Living it gives a story heart.
That's why I never want Behind the X's & O's to become a place where I tell everyone else's stories.
I want it to be a place where people tell their own.
There are things you've survived that no one else can explain.
Lessons you've learned that no one else can teach.
Moments that shaped you in ways no one else witnessed.
Those moments deserve your voice.
Sometimes we think our story isn't interesting.
Maybe because we've lived it every day.
Maybe because we assume everyone else already knows it.
But what feels ordinary to you may be exactly what someone else needs to hear.
I've learned that people aren't looking for perfect stories.
They're looking for honest ones.
Stories that remind them they aren't the only ones who struggled.
Stories that remind them perseverance is possible.
Stories that remind them hope is still alive.
The longer we build this business, the more I realize stories aren't valuable because they're polished.
They're valuable because they're personal.
Every business has a story.
Every family has a story.
Every person has a story.
No one can tell your story better than you.
And someone may be waiting to hear it in your own words.

What Healthy Actually Looks Like
Healthy communities aren't built by people who have all the answers. They're built by people who are willing to share what they've learned. Your story doesn't need to be polished to have purpose—it simply needs to be honest enough for someone else to find hope in it.
Because no one else has lived your journey. And no one can tell your story with the same heart as the person who lived it.
