Why Are You Standing Over There All By Yourself?

📅 July 1 ⏱️ 5 min read 🌱 What Healthy Actually Looks Like

"Why are you standing over there all by yourself?"

That's a question I've asked more than once.

Sometimes it's at a networking event.

Sometimes it's at a community gathering.

Sometimes it's at a car show.

Every once in a while, you'll notice someone standing off to the side.

They don't know anyone.

They're waiting for someone to start a conversation.

I've learned that one conversation has the potential to change someone's entire experience.

The longer we build this business, the more I realize communities don't become stronger by accident.

They become stronger because somebody chooses to walk across the room.

Somebody introduces themselves.

Somebody invites another person into the conversation.

Somebody decides not to let another person stand alone.

Business is no different.

Some of the best relationships we've built didn't start with a sales pitch.

They started with a conversation.

A handshake.

A genuine interest in another person's story.

I've realized that people are usually looking for more than a product.

They're looking for connection.

They're looking for someone who listens.

They're looking for someone who cares.

Communities don't become stronger because everyone knows everyone.

They become stronger because someone is willing to make the first introduction.

As I look at where Red Alpha is headed, I think that's becoming part of our mission.

Not just printing signs.

Not just wrapping vehicles.

Not just creating marketing.

But creating opportunities for people to connect.

Whether it's through Mugshot Monday...

Behind the X's & O's...

A local car show...

Or simply introducing two business owners who should know each other.

I want our business to be known for bringing people together.

Because when relationships grow, communities grow.

And when communities grow, businesses naturally grow with them.

The longer we build this business, the more I realize our greatest opportunities haven't come from standing in the middle of the crowd.

They've come from walking over to the person standing by themselves.

What Healthy Actually Looks Like

Healthy businesses don't just create products or services. They create connections. They help people feel welcome, build trust, and strengthen the communities they serve.

Because sometimes the most valuable thing you can offer isn't what you sell. It's making someone feel like they belong.
