Today is my birthday.

And more than anything, I’m grateful.

Grateful for the work.
Grateful for the responsibility.
Grateful for the opportunity to build something that didn’t exist before.

Because there was a time when I was asking for all of this.

Praying for the chance.
Praying for the equipment.
Praying for the opportunity to stay busy.
Praying for the ability to provide.

And now, a lot of those prayers have been answered.

But they didn’t show up the way I imagined.

They showed up as responsibility.
As pressure.
As long days.
As decisions that don’t always have clear answers.
As weight.

And if you’re not careful, you can forget that.

You can start to look at the work as a burden instead of a blessing.
You can focus on what’s difficult instead of what’s been built.

But gratitude changes that.

It doesn’t remove the pressure.

It doesn’t make the responsibility disappear.

But it changes how you carry it.

Because when you realize that some of the things you’re dealing with today…

are the same things you once asked for…

you stop looking at them the same way.

The work becomes something you get to do.
Not something you have to do.

The responsibility becomes something you’re trusted with.
Not something being forced on you.

And that shift matters.

Because the business will always have weight.
There will always be something to figure out.
Something to fix.
Something to improve.

But gratitude keeps you grounded in the middle of it.

It reminds you why you started.
It reminds you what you’ve already made it through.
And it reminds you that you’re still here…

still building…
still moving forward.

And that alone is something to be grateful for.
